Privacy

DaisyBound keeps your library private by default. Here is what it stores, who can see it and how to take it with you or delete it.

What DaisyBound stores

  • Your account: your name, your email address and your password, which is stored scrambled so nobody can read it, not even us.
  • Your library: books and their covers, formats, genres, ratings, reviews, collections, wish list, reading history, reading goals, and the names you type when you lend a book.
  • Your settings: your public profile choices and your light or dark theme.
  • The internet address you signed up from, used only to spot spam accounts. Turned-away sign-ups are kept for 30 days.
  • Reports you send about public content, so the admin can look into them. The person you report isn't told who sent it.
  • Who you follow on DaisyBound.

Who can see it

Only you, unless you turn on a public profile. Then people with the link see the parts you choose to share. Books you hide, private collections and who you lent books to are never shown.

Only public profiles can be followed. People who follow you see the same things your public page shows, gathered into a feed. Your follower count is public, but a follower is only named if their own profile is public too.

The person who runs DaisyBound can see your name, email address, when you joined and how many books you have, and can read what you share publicly. They can hide public reviews, collections or profiles that break the rules, and suspend or delete accounts that misuse the site. They also see the internet address each account signed up from. Your private books and notes are not shown to them.

What is never done with it

Your data is not sold, rented or shared for marketing. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking scripts.

Services DaisyBound uses

  • When you look up a book, its ISBN, title or link is sent to Open Library and Google Books to fetch details and a cover. Nothing about you is sent with it.
  • Fonts load from Bunny Fonts, which does not use cookies or log visitors.
  • The site and its database are hosted by Hostinger, which keeps daily backups.

Cookies

Only the ones needed to keep you logged in and protect your forms. Your theme choice is also remembered in your browser.

Taking it with you, or deleting it

Under Profile & settings you can download everything as a spreadsheet or a full data file at any time. Deleting your account removes your account and library right away. Copies in the hosting backups age out on their own after a short time.
